just to share

My foot has fallen asleep so badly that I almost fell over when I tried to walk. Splendid.

I'm so glad this is your top post. I'm randomly surfing around all the blogs where people have listed Ada as one of their best-loved books, and I am delighted to hear of your dead-footed stumblings. I get the same when I sit cross-legged with my latop on my lap for 2 hours. I watched The Life Aquatic in that posture. Boy, that was a mistake.

No no no... please hug me... I'm a big fan of them, unless they are of the stiff/bony variety. I actually had to teach a friend of mine how to hug properly because it creeped me out so much to encounter her awkwardly jutting, stiff shoulderblades.

I think the big hug may have something to do with the amount of flesh acreage that comes into contact. I don't know why the term acreage was necessary there, but somehow, it was. Hugs can also be creepy though... there are the evil lingering ones, and those ones where people just sag into your body. I am also not a fan of back-pat hugs, because you KNOW that there is no sentiment there. Ugh. But a nice hug is the best thing in the world, next to the combination of a cozy chair, hot chocolate, a down comforter, a good book, a fire and a snowstorm. But hugs are much simpler.

I don't know about others, but my own personal skin, though not quite to the point where it can actually be measured in acres, is nicely kept up so as to increase its property value. (I was going to start talking about prospective owners, but then my inner feminazi kicked in (she's only about an inch high, but MY can she speak out when she does!) and so I stopped. Fascinating, neh?
